Red Deer(Cervus elaphus) is one of the largest species of deer in the world. They were introduced from Europe by Pedro Luro between 1904 and 1906 in La Pampa province. Red Deer are ruminants which are characterized by an even number of toes, and fourÂchambered stomach. They are similar to elk but smaller size. adults can reach a height of 130 cm, a length of 220 cm and a weight range of 150 to 250 kgs .Mature red stag usually stay in singleÂsex groups for most of the year. During the mating ritual, called the rut, mature stags compete for the attentions of the hinds and will then try to defend hinds that they attract. Rival stags challenge opponents by bellowing and walking in parallel. This allows combatant to asses each other's antlers, body size and fighting prowess. If neither stag back a clash of antlers can occur, and stags sometimes sustain serious injuries. Bull Red stags have distinctive "roar" during the rut, which is an adaptation to forested environments as oppose to America Elk which" bugle" during the rut, which is an adaptation to open environments.
